Offscreen season 3

Held on the same dates as Art Basel Paris, this third edition of the fair will take place in the expansive Grand Garage Haussmann, which spans eight floors. This year’s guest of honour is Chantal Akerman (1950 -2015), represented by Marian Goodman Gallery, who for her first participation is presenting an installation including the projection of the film La Chambre (1972) as well as a series of prints linked to the film Là-Bas (2006). An invitation linked to the Jeu de Paume’s retrospective devoted to the Belgian filmmaker. Compared to previous editions, more artists have been selected this year: 28, up from 10 in 2023. Among them are Lukas Hoffmann with the polyptych Bronx River Avenue (Galerie C), Alfredo Jaar with Searching for Africa in Life (Goodman Gallery) and a duo show featuring Gordon Matta-Clark and Dennis Oppenheim (Montrasio Arte). Several galleries have remained faithful to the exhibition from one edition to the next, including Thomas Zander with two performances by Tarrah Krajnak, La Patinoire Royale Galerie Valérie Bach with Lita Albuquerque, Galerie Binome with Laurence Aëgerter’s series of cathedrals, and Anita Beckers with Jonas Englert’s installation Declaration of Principles, inspired by the Israeli-Palestinian peace accords signed in Washington in 1992 by Yitzhak Rabin, Yasser Arafat and Bill Clinton. A new bookshop space has also been introduced, featuring a selection of publications on experimental cinema, video and poetry, in collaboration with Printed Matter, a New York bookshop and platform dedicated to the distribution of artists’ books.
